FAQ

Tips for your Kayaking adventure

Paddling kayaks is a great way to experience the water and is fun. However, it is an inherently dangerous activity due to its relationship with water. Before you embark on your adventure, it is important to note that there are several rules you must follow in order to ensure the safety of yourself and others.

By using the watercraft, you are accepting responsibility for any and all of your actions concerning its use.

  • Never stand or lean to the side of a watercraft. This can result in tipping, which not only results in getting wet, but can easily lead to drowning if someone is knocked unconscious or unable to detach themselves from the kayak during the flip.

  • We recommend wearing your life jacket. (A life preserver (PFD) is required to visible on your kayak while out on the lake.)

  • We include a dry bag or watertight phone case in your rental and recommend placing your valuables in them.

  • Never use the watercraft for anything other than its intended use. These watercraft are designed for specific uses and to go beyond these can compromise your safety and/or damage the kayak.

  • Never operate our kayaks under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

  • Do not bring GLASS BOTTLES. Glass bottles sink to the bottom of the lake, create a hazard if broken near the beaches and will never decompose.

  • Respect private property and other people boating on the lakes.

  • Watercraft use is prohibited after sunset. SilverFinn Kayaking rental times end at 4pm every day of the week.

What should I bring?

•. Sunscreen/Bugspray

•. Hat and sunglasses

• Snacks

•. Comfortable clothing that can get wet and dry quickly.

•. All drop-off/pick-up spots have restrooms.
